Whether you’re in pursuit of some winter sun, going on a holiday with pals or travelling solo, having an in-flight routine can be a game changer. There’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination feeling sluggish, dehydrated and lethargic- not the best way to start the trip of a lifetime. Try incorporating these healthy flying hacks on your next adventure for your smoothest journey yet.
- H20
Someone once told us you lose a litre of water every hour you sit on a plane. Crazy right? We’re all guilty of not drinking enough on board, so make sure you grab a big bottle once through security. Hydration is the KEY to avoiding headaches, that groggy feeling and irritability.
- ALWAYS TIME FOR TEA
Following on the drinking theme, but this time with tea, aka one of our FAVOURITE things. Next time you travel, take a selection of tea bags with you, we promise it’ll change your life. Tea = comfort. Essentially a no-brainer right? We love peppermint, Pukka’s Tulsi tea or Yogi Tea’s Digestion blend for happy tummies all round.
- WHEN IN DOUBT MEDITATE IT OUT
The run up to holidays and trips away can often be crazy busy, as we want to pack in as much as we can before escaping the daily grind. Flight time actually ends up being the first time we can all actually switch off- having to turn our phones on flight mode is the DREAM scenario. Flying can give many people waves of anxiety, and so just ten minutes of meditation can help keep minds calm. For those of you new to meditation, try Headspace, which will guide you through ten minutes of pure bliss.
- EARPHONES IN, PODCAST ON
We hear you, you cant meditate the entire way through your journey, especially if it’s long-haul. This is where the power of a good podcast or playlist comes in, and can be just as effective in helping you switch off your mind.
- GET READING
We’ve always found nothing more enjoyable than getting ourselves lost in a story and switching off the outside world. No judgements here- whether it’s a trashy romance, period drama or thriller, we’ll probably read it.
