We won’t lie- the jet lag hit us hard. Seriously hard. But after a long journey where we were mostly sat down, achy backs, tight hips and stiff hamstrings meant our bodies were in need of some proper tension releasing and a hell of a lot of TLC. So instead of ‘hammering’ out a HIIT class or ‘getting it done’ for the sake of it, we favoured heaps of body loving, stress relieving forms of movement. If you fancy finding a middle ground between cortisol raising cardio and the stillness of yin, these workouts are sure to do the trick.
Situated in the pretty streets of Abbot Kinney, Venice – The Dailey Method is your girl next door pilates hybrid class. Founded by fitness pioneer, Jill Dailey in 2000, The Dailey Method combines body toning exercises from a wide group of disciplines such as dance, yoga, kinesiology, and pilates for an ab crunching, teeth gritting, sweat flowing + effective full-body workout. We were burning, real burning.
In short – THIS CLASS IS EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING A CLASS SHOULD BE, SHOULD MEAN AND SHOULD FEEL. Situated right in the heart of Abbott Kinney’s main street, The Class by TT lived up to Instagram expectations + beyond. The studio is chic, minimalistic and full of all the whole self vibes. The Class is described as the cathartic fitness experience and an experience it was. Think hissing, chanting, yelling, sweat like you have never sweat, swearing and a whole lot of release. The class method sees you move through simple, repetitive calisthenics and plyo moves. Simple, but maybe not when your squatting straight for four minutes. The guided instruction and carefully curated music holds the key to the class. You are spoken to throughout the class, being invited to witness your resistance to discomfort. The result is an expansive, heart-opening, body-strengthening release. This Class will challenge and enlighten you all while building an incredibly strong, lean, resilient body. You will find that you are much stronger than you ever thought you could be.
